Post KisMAC 0.3 pseudo issues
Just saw a bunch of comments saying that 0.3 is not working.
Quote:
...seems like they're still some bugs left.
etc etc
Not to flame anyone, but the "bugs left" are solely ID Ten T bugs. Experts will tell you that they are the hardest to fix.
As a hint, and very very very very often mentioned by Fish, reading the FAQ and Guide for Newbie fixes the bug. (hopefully)

It seems that PowerPC support has been dropped. Will there be a universal binary released?

This has effectively been documented:

Since 10.6 requires Intel and excludes PPC....

There has not yet been a statement either way about PPC support in KisMAC going forward, but I have heard that there are additional 10.6-only plans in the works. I still say that you can "thank" Apple for the constant changes in AirPort Extreme support that force us to regularly leave behind older versions of the OS; it's certainly not an arbitrary choice on our end.

I, too, wish that I could continue to use future versions of KisMAC on my older Mac hardware. And I don't even use the AirPort (Extreme) cards with KisMAC!

Patches are always welcomed, and we would love to see more devs join the project at any level.

Thank you very much for your response Fish. I must have missed the connection there between 10.6 requirement and PPC support.

It might be a good idea to state that in the download section. I'll have to get my Hackintosh configured so I can run the new released. :-) I am not requesting support for that.

Talking about the next release, may I respectfully suggest that it includes a "Read Me" file?
Just a copy of the guide for Newbie and FAQ should help a little.
I am confident that we will still have score of "Guyz OMG! Kismax iz not wrkin, lol" but, it may not hurt to try.
I can slowly work on a PDF or else. Admins?

Many thanks to the people that worked on 0.3

I like this idea. All we'd have to do is put a web browser file that points to our FAQ.
